The TMU delegates led by the University’s Vice President Chieh-Hsi Wu（吳介信）included academician Hsing-Jien Kung（龔行健）; Profs. Yung-Shiao Chiang（蔣永孝）, Tai-Tong Wong（黃棣棟）, and Chih-Wei Peng（彭志維）; Assist. Prof. Sung-Bau Lee（李松柏）; Drs. Yao-ching Fang（方耀慶） and I-Hsuan Liu（林依璿）, visited CSRU during May 21-26. They were also accompanied by Assist. Prof Wei-Chun HuangFu（皇甫維君）, Chief of International Research Section, and Ms. Chun Yang（楊宭）, Program Manager, International Research Section, both from the Office of Global Engagement.
Upon arriving at Case Western Reserve University, Vice President Chieh-His Wu and academician Hsing-Jien Kung met with David Fleshler, the Vice Provost for International Affairs at CWRU; and Dr. Mark Chance, Vice Dean for Research, School of Medicine, CWRU, to discuss matters of funding and subsidizing bilateral collaborations in the future, and also to sign renewals of the seed fund as well as research MOUs.
At the TMU-CWRU joint seminar, TMU Vice President Chieh-His Wu spoke on the experience and results of TMU as well as the globalization efforts at the University to thunderous applause. Members subsidized by the seed fund in the first to third year also shared their research results at the seminar, while those receiving subsidy for the fourth year presented their research project proposal. Attendees at the seminar were generous with their questions, and received extremely positive feedbacks. Vice President Wu and members from the International Research Section also participated in the workshop for promoting international collaboration, where the quantity of international exchange can be raised through learning. The second TMU-CWRU joint seminar is expected to be held at TMU in conjunction with TMU’s 60th anniversary in June, 2020.
